Noise Gates provide automatic muting, until triggered by signal presence. Attack Time determines how quickly the gate opens when signal is present. Release Time determines how quickly the gate closes when signal is no longer present. Threshold determines what input signal level will trigger the gate to open. A meter & numeric display indicate the amount of gain reduction. Identifier provides a custom label, when dialog box is minimized (see below). Bypass disables the Noise Gate without changing settings.
Right-clicking over certain settings will provide a menu of additional options. Control Dialog Boxes for Noise Gates can be minimized to create user control surfaces (see Customizing Component Objects).
